Born in 1946, Gilbert Roos spent most of his life in Switzerland. After working in various jobs in Switzerland and Gabon, he began studying classical guitar at the Fribourg Conservatoire, eventually obtaining a teaching diploma.
Gilbert Roos taught for nearly 30 years, mainly at the Conservatoire de musique du Nord vaudois in Yverdon. Passionate about teaching, he developed his own method and composed numerous original pieces and arrangements for his pupils. During the final years of his life, Gilbert Roos devoted most of his time to composition.
Since 2008, Gilbert Roos has gradually entrusted his entire catalogue of works to Editions Partita.
