Francesco Molino (1768 - 1847) was an Italian composer, violinist and guitarist with an affinity for Spain who, from 1820 onwards, lived in Paris where he taught music and composed solo and chamber music.

Note de l'arrangeur:
We can say that while both F. Molino and D. Scarlatti were Italians who travelled to Spain and Scarlatti was no doubt influenced by the Spanish guitar, Molino actually played on, and composed for, the instrument in a way that was accessible to amateur players. And, while Italians, French and Germans were playing their music on their Romantic guitars, there is reason to believe that Molino would have actually played on and written for the Spanish guitar. Whatever the case may be, I find this particular piece one of the more melodious ones by Molino, and decided to transpose it as an exercise in fingering, from G to a richer tonality in C.
